What I’m talking about at the start of the video is in reference to a clip on YouTube that no longer exists.
Initially this performance was to be a video response to an episode someone posted of the early 2000’s TV series, Queer as Folk. Coupling that particular segment of the show with this song, one would immediately be able to identify the genesis of both the song and its title.
The story goes, character Emmet Honeycutt is in a barn with an adventuresome beau who wants to take him horseback riding. Emmet remarks something about “the only time I ever got near shit kickers is when they were kicking the shit out of me.”
Hence the title and context.
Everybody now… “I got the shit kicked outta me…”
